Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I post on my Google Business Profile?

Google sets no required frequency. Once a week is a practical rhythm for most small businesses, because it keeps the profile looking recent without taking much time. Posts older than six months are archived unless they have a date range, so long gaps leave a profile looking empty.

Do Google Business Profile posts help my ranking?

We have not seen Google state that posts improve ranking, and we would not promise it. What posts do reliably is give customers a reason to choose you once they find you. A recent offer or a clear answer can turn a profile view into a call.

Why did my Google post get rejected?

The usual reasons are a claim Google treats as misleading, or a phone number or link unrelated to your business. Text full of extra characters also gets turned down. Check the post against Google’s content rules, remove anything you cannot back up, and post a fixed version.

Can I still answer questions on my Google profile?

Google discontinued its Q&A API on 3 November 2025 while it updates the feature, and the public section has been changing too. Check what your own profile shows. Either way, answer common questions in your description, posts and review replies.

What should my first Google post be?

Start with an update showing recent work, with your own photo and two or three lines about it. It is quick to make and shows customers you are active. Follow it the next week with an answer to the question your customers ask most often.
